Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) analysis ELISA (Hengyuan, Shanghai, China) was used to detect the levels of inflammatory factors (TNF-α and IL-1β) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and serum of rats and in cell culture, MUC5B in trachea and lung of rats and in cell culture were detected with ELISA (Hengyuan, Shanghai, China), according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The levels of TNF- α, IL-1β and MUC5B were quantified with the Epoch Microplate Spectrophotometer (Bio-Rad Laboratories, Hercules, California, USA), and determined by comparing the optical density of the specimens to the standard curve at 450 nm.
